Bridgewell Trust is the cooperative effort of 6 businesses in the Richmond, VA and surrounding area. Each business is owned & operated by self-identified social entrepreneurs: business-minded people who use business principles to solve social problems.
Why we started Bridgewell Trust
Bridgewell Trust was created to respond strategically to food insecurity, housing instability, and economic vulnerability within our community. Funded by founding businesses, strategic partners, community organizations, and private donors, the Trust operates as a private catalytic fund focused on rapid, targeted support.
We provide accessible micro-grants and micro-loans that bridge urgent gaps—keeping a family fed for a week, preventing an eviction, or covering an emergency need that would otherwise destabilize a household. These modest interventions are designed for speed, accountability, and measurable impact.
Our approach pairs respect for individual resilience with disciplined resource allocation: matching timely capital to direct need so community strength is preserved and amplified.
